Vallejo Squidmar Color : The Essentials

Vallejo Squidmar Color – The Essentials is a 30-colour paint set designed as the main entry point into the Squidmar Color range. The palette gives you enough variety to paint complete miniatures without immediately needing a large collection of individual colours, making it suitable for wargaming miniatures, RPG characters and display pieces.

The Squidmar Color system was developed by Vallejo together with Squidmar Miniatures, building on their previous paint selections while introducing a revised palette and colours developed specifically for the new range. The paints are designed for easier mixing, stronger saturation and greater visual impact, allowing the colours in the set to work together across base colours, shadows, highlights and mixed intermediate tones. If you're choosing between paint ranges, our Vallejo vs Army Painter comparison explains the practical differences between the two brands.

The Essentials is particularly useful if you want to start with Squidmar Color as a complete painting palette rather than choosing separate colours one by one. Alongside the 30 paints, the set includes four HIPS plastic miniatures from Squidmar's Sona fantasy universe and access to painting tutorials via QR code, so the included models can also be used to explore the palette and techniques covered by Squidmar.
