When should you use Wet Ground Basing Paste?

Wet Ground Basing Paste is perfect for creating rain-soaked battlefields, damp woodland paths, riverbanks and marshy landscapes on miniature bases. Its rich, dark colour makes it an excellent choice for fantasy, historical and science fiction miniatures where the environment reflects recent rainfall or naturally humid conditions. It also serves as an excellent transition between dry soil and deeper mud, adding more realism to your basing projects.

How to apply

Apply AK Interactive Wet Ground Basing Paste directly from the pot using a sculpting tool, spatula or an old brush. Spread the paste evenly across the miniature base while shaping the terrain before it begins to cure. The product performs equally well in thin and thicker layers and can be thinned with water or an acrylic thinner if a smoother consistency is required. Allow approximately 6 hours for the basing paste to dry completely before adding further weathering products or scenic materials. To enhance the freshly wet appearance, puddles or gloss water effects can be added after the paste has cured.

Tips for the best results

Natural wet ground often varies in both colour and moisture. Combine Wet Ground Basing Paste with Muddy Ground Basing Paste to create convincing transitions between damp soil and heavily churned mud. Finish the base with puddles, tufts, moss or small stones to build realistic outdoor scenes full of depth and atmosphere.
