The AK Synthetic Dry Brush XL is the largest brush in AK's S, M, L and XL synthetic drybrush range. Its rounded synthetic bristles are designed for the repeated light contact used when drybrushing raised details and textured surfaces.

The Extra Large size is intended for jobs where coverage matters. It is particularly practical for large models, vehicles, scenery, terrain pieces and bigger textured bases, where using a smaller dry brush would mean making considerably more passes over the same area.

You don't need an XL brush for every miniature. This is the one to reach for when the surface you're painting becomes large enough that the extra width actually saves you time. For more controlled or concentrated drybrushing, one of the smaller S, M or L brushes will usually be the better choice.
