Water Gel Swamp Green is perfect for creating realistic swamp water, marshes, ponds, riverbanks and overgrown waterways. The translucent brown-green colour adds natural depth when applied over a painted surface, making it ideal for fantasy landscapes, historical dioramas, jungle terrain and post-apocalyptic scenery. It is particularly effective when recreating stagnant water with algae, vegetation and muddy surroundings.

How to apply

Apply Water Gel Swamp Green directly onto a painted surface to enhance the illusion of depth beneath the water. Spread the gel with a spatula, sculpting tool or old brush and build the effect in layers between 0.1 and 3 mm thick. Drying time depends on the thickness of each layer, but allowing approximately 24 hours will produce the best results. If needed, the gel can be thinned with water or an acrylic thinner to improve its flow and make it easier to work into detailed areas.

Tips for the best results

For the most convincing swamp environment, start by painting the base in varying shades of brown and green before applying the gel. Adding small branches, leaves, reeds or other natural debris beneath or between the gel layers creates a richer and more realistic scene.
