AK Interactive Panel Liner Fresh Rust

The AK Interactive Panel Liner – Light Rust is an enamel wash for adding light rust tones and oxidation effects to scale models, miniatures and terrain. Its warm orange-brown colour works particularly well around exposed metal, chipped paint, bolts, weld seams, track links and other areas where you want to suggest newer or lighter corrosion.

The thin consistency allows the liner to flow naturally into recessed details and around raised elements through capillary action. This makes it useful both for picking out individual details and for adding controlled rust colour around mechanical components without covering the surrounding surface.

Light Rust can be used on its own for subtle oxidation or combined with darker rust colours, streaking effects and pigments when building more developed weathering. Apply it where rust would logically collect or emerge, then remove or soften excess product with a brush or cotton swab lightly dampened with enamel thinner.

How to use

Apply the Panel Liner over a gloss or satin varnished surface. Shake the bottle thoroughly and use a fine brush to introduce the product around panel lines, recesses and metal details. Allow capillary action to distribute the liner, then clean or soften excess with enamel thinner.

For more pronounced corrosion, build the effect gradually rather than applying a heavy amount at once. Light Rust can also provide the brighter rust tones within a layered weathering effect alongside darker rust colours.
