How to apply

Apply AK Interactive Muddy Ground Basing Paste directly from the pot using a sculpting tool, spatula or an old brush. Spread the paste across the base and shape the surface while it is still wet. Footprints, tyre tracks or other impressions can be added before the paste cures to create even more realistic effects. Once completely dry, the surface can be enhanced with pigments, washes or a small amount of gloss varnish in selected areas to reinforce the appearance of fresh, wet mud.

Tips for the best results

Natural mud is rarely uniform in colour or texture. Create subtle height differences before the paste dries and combine the finished base with tufts, stones or vegetation for a more natural appearance. If you want to recreate freshly saturated mud, apply a little gloss varnish to selected areas after the paste has cured to give the surface a convincing wet finish.
