When should you use Dry Ground Basing Paste?

Dry Ground Basing Paste is perfect for creating dusty paths, open fields, dry woodland floors and natural landscapes on miniature bases. Its neutral colour makes it suitable for fantasy, historical and science fiction miniatures alike, allowing it to blend seamlessly into almost any army or display project. It also provides an excellent base for static grass, tufts, rocks and other scenic materials, making it one of the most versatile basing products in the range.

How to apply

Apply AK Interactive Dry Ground Basing Paste directly from the pot using a sculpting tool, spatula or an old brush. Spread the paste evenly across the miniature base and shape the surface while it remains workable. The product performs equally well in thin and thicker layers and can be thinned with water or an acrylic thinner if a smoother consistency is required. Allow approximately 6 hours for the basing paste to dry completely before adding additional weathering products or scenic materials.

Tips for the best results

Natural dry ground contains subtle variations in texture and colour. Build gentle height differences while the paste is still wet, then enhance the finished base with a light drybrush to highlight the raised texture. Finish with static grass, tufts, small stones or weathering pigments to create realistic outdoor environments with plenty of visual depth.
